Warning: Contains Spoilers For The Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc And Beyond!
Within Demon Slayer, the terrifying power and influence of Muzan Kibutsuji, the king of demons, is undeniable. Throughout the series, he terrorizes humanity, ruling over an army of demons with unparalleled abilities. However, one demon, Nakime, has a unique Blood Demon Art that could have been the key to Muzan's demise. Nakime's abilities make her one of the most formidable and underrated characters in the Demon Slayer universe, with powers so broken that she could have killed Muzan at any point during the series.
Despite her low profile in comparison to demons like Doma and Akaza, Nakime is arguably one of the most powerful demons in the Demon Slayer universe. Her ability to alter space, coupled with her role as Muzan's trusted servant, made her a force to be reckoned with. The series subtly hints at the vast extent of her powers, but many fans underestimate the terrifying potential she possesses, specifically, her unique power to transport beings, including Muzan, into life-threatening situations.
Nakime's Unique Blood Demon Art Is Demon Slayer's Most Broken Power
She Has The Power Of Space Manipulation
Nakime's Blood Demon Art allows her to instantaneously alter the structure of space and open portals in the Infinity Castle. By playing her biwa, she can change the layout of the Infinity Castle and trap her opponents in a never-ending maze. This makes her extremely dangerous because she can manipulate the entire Demon Slayer finale battlefield with ease, trapping the Hashira and Demon Slayers in unpredictable and confusing areas. Her powers are not just defensive, but offensive as well, disorienting even the most skilled Demon Slayers.

The Demon Slayer finale will bring fans to tears with a tragic and unexpected moment of love and death.
The ability becomes even more impressive when considering that Nakime can transport any being, including Muzan himself. Although she is ultimately loyal to him, her power places her in a high position in the demon ranks. Nakime could easily transport any demon or Demon Slayer into or out of the Infinity Castle by strumming her instrument. This control over the Infinity Castle space makes her arguably the most powerful demon in Demon Slayer.
Nakime Could Have Killed Muzan At Any Time
Sunlight Is the King of Demons' Only Weakness
What makes Nakime's power truly broken is that she has the ability to kill Muzan at any time. Demons are vulnerable to sunlight, and Nakime's ability to transport beings to and from the Infinity Castle means that she could have easily teleported Muzan outside the Castle into sunlight during the day. Muzan, despite his overwhelming power, is not immune to daylight, and exposing him to it would have been fatal. Yet, Nakime never does this because, as a demon herself, she would likely die if Muzan did.
Muzan exerts almost absolute control over all the demons he creates, but there are cases where a demon managed to escape from Muzan's control and evolve into a stronger creature, most notably Nezuko and Tamayo. This missed opportunity highlights just how underrated Nakime is in the series. Her loyalty to Muzan ultimately prevented her from acting on this potential, but the fact remains that she held the keys to his death. Had she been able to slip free of his control, Nakime could have ended Muzan's reign of terror far earlier than the Demon Slayer Corps managed to.
Why Nakime Is One Of The Most Underrated Characters
For How Powerful She Is, Nakime Has Such Little Hype
Nakime's role in Demon Slay is completely underrated, but her powers make her one of the most dangerous characters in the series. The ability to control space is one of the most broken powers that any anime character can have. The series downplays her importance because she remains in the shadows, quietly manipulating the Infinity Castle, but her potential as a game-changing demon is always lurking there. It's not a coincidence that, when Yushiro takes control of Nakime during the final battle, Muzan immediately kills her, as her ability is putting him on the ropes.
Most fans focus on her role as the manipulator of the Infinity Castle, but her ability to transport beings gives her even greater significance. Nakime could have easily shifted the tide of any battle throughout the series by transporting characters to or from the Infinity Castle, where they would have a limited chance of survival. Her quiet, unassuming personality within Demon Slayer overshadows how important her powers were to Muzan's survival and success up until the Infinity Castle Arc, and had she chosen to defy him, she could have been the one to bring about his downfall.
Nakime's Blood Demon Art stands out as one of the most broken abilities within Demon Slayer. Her power to control space and transport beings to and from the Infinity Castle gave her a surprising edge over Muzan by simply teleporting him into daylight.
