It’s been only 4 months since the 888 Inner Circle formally began with a Genesis NFT drop.
At that time, 8,888 Inner Circle Genesis NFTs were created and sold out within 90 seconds — jumpstarting a vibrant community of now more than 111,000 people on Discord.
But the Inner Circle is about much more than one drop or strings of “8's.”
In early 2021, an anonymous crypto art collector who goes by the alias, 888, started building a collection of his favorite crypto art.
He took to Twitter for the first time in February, following and purchasing art from artists all over the world.
He did all of this with the goal of someday displaying and sharing this entire digital art collection as a celebration of the history of the digital renaissance.
His innate ability to curate a collection that included artists both established and emerging was an indication of his dedication to supporting the community at large from the beginning.
Within a few weeks, he had built his own vibrant community of artists, collectors and enthusiasts who also believed in the opportunity of this convergence of art and technology.
As 888’s collection steadily grew, so did his passion for providing further support for artists in this space.
He recognized clearly that more innovative structures were required to allow for both better discovery and financial support for artists.
In alignment with this mission, he created 888 The New World — the only digital art marketplace founded, built, and ran by artists and pioneers in crypto art.
The first investment round was led by early NFT artists such as FEWOCiOUS, RTFKT Studios, Paris Hilton, Ness, ThankYouX, Frank Wilder and more.
While building 888TNW, 888 recognized that there was also a strong need for better ways for communities to come together in support of the artists they love.
This was already happening vicariously through people interacting with the Twitter community of artists that began to gather and interact around 888.
To accelerate and support this process, 888 decided to create a tokenized community membership called 888 Inner Circle — a place where people could interact with and support their favorite crypto art in deeper and more profound ways — while also becoming a part of a global membership club that gives them access to benefits online, in web3 and in real life. The best of all worlds.
To allow people to gain access to the community, 888 created the 8,888 Inner Circle Genesis tokens. Holders of this token became founding members of the Inner Circle.
The #888InnerCircle began to provide on-chain utility unlike any other on-chain community.
Holders have received free airdrops from prolific artists, have been granted early whitelist access to incredible community-driven PFP projects, and are eagerly awaiting upcoming bluechip NFT drops from artists such as BT and Steve Aoki, among many still unannounced collaborations.

There are only 8,888 original 888 Inner Circle Genesis NFTs and there will never be any more.
We always wanted the #888InnerCircle to serve as a club that provides exclusive benefits to its global members, but at the same time, we also wanted it to be as inclusive as possible so that everyone who shares our mission and values can join and become a part of the same digital renaissance we envision.
However, knowing that the floor price of a Genesis is around 1.5 ETH, we are aware that the Inner Circle has priced out a lot of people. We are also aware that its vibrant, supportive community is the backbone of the Inner Circle. The financial barrier-to-entry prevents a lot of potential valuable community members from joining and making the Inner Circle even better.
From the very start, the ethos of all things 888 have revolved around celebrating and supporting the entire new decentralized ecosystem for artists.
By building different aspects of this necessary artist-first framework, and as more artists and fans have entered the space, it has become integral to steadily grow this framework at the same time.
In order to now allow the utility and benefits of #888InnerCircle to become even more accessible and reflective of the growth of the NFT space, we will be expanding the Inner Circle by introducing 80k new, additional memberships.
This expansion is also our effort to ensure that the Inner Circle grows to become a global brand with global partnerships expanding benefits for all and guaranteeing that our community’s mission is secured throughout the world for all of our members.
These new #888InnerCircle memberships will be distributed through 8 Realms which will be managed by our 8 Guardians:

Each will have their own gated community on our Discord and will offer unique utility and benefits to their community. The Realms will also be able to collaborate with one another in innovative and distinct ways — building new aspects of the future web that have yet to be seen before.
With this expansion, Inner Circle Genesis holders will now considered to be Platinum Level holders. The Inner 8 will be considered to be Black Level and the new 88,888 memberships with be Gold Level.
Inner Genesis token holders will always be considered to be the foundational holders in the #888InnerCircle Circle — with the Inner8 still receiving the highest tier of benefits.
The new Inner Circle — Gold Level will be the most accessible tier for more people to be able to join the #888InnerCircle.

In December 2021, we announced Gala Games as the first Guardian — the Guardian of the Blue Realm — at their pivotal Galaverse event in Las Vegas.
As part of the celebration, some of our friends performed an intimate show for the new Blue Realm #888InnerCircle members. Here are some highlights:
On February 8th, 2022, 8,888 tokens from each Realm will be available to mint for 0.0888 ETH*
In order to mint tokens for your favorite Realm, or for them all, you will have to go to our website on February 8th.
Whitelist 7–9 AM PST
Open to current #888InnerCircle Genesis holders and select competition winners. One mint per Realm is allowed per Genesis piece. Limit of 3000 per Realm.
Allowlist 9–11 AM PST
Open to community members of the Guardians and Genesis holders. 8 per transaction per Realm is allowed. Limit of 4000 per Realm.
